Day 4

Aullwood Audubon
Today we went to an Audubon in Dayton. We learned about many things here. We first went to see the some birds using our binoculars. Then we went on a hike through the woods, and visited a lake, saw some more birds, and finally a restroom break in the main building. Next we visited he farm and ate lunch. From this trip, I learned that even all of the creatures, they still depend on each other for survival. My favorite art of this experience was the farm. I really liked the farm because I liked seeing the animals and looking at how they act compared to how we act. It was truly a great experience.

This is the Contemplation that I wrote:

Imagine yourself laying down in an island isolated from the whole world. Should be calm and peaceful. No stress, no worries. The deep, crystal blue ocean is surrounding you. It is not too hot, not too cold. As you stand up and notice that the ocean is empty, and seems pretty shallow. You go into the cold water feeling even more relaxed. You can smell the saltiness of the water. The cold seaweed sticks to your body as you swim deeper and deeper. You start feeling some objects like seashells. As you get even deeper you start to see small tiny fish. You simply just pull one small fish out of the water.
You are now getting out of the water still firmly holding the fish. You go into the jungle in the middle of the island, which is surrounded by the ocean. You find some wood, and rub them against each other repeatedly, to start a fire. After you finally succeed, you cook the fish on top of the fire. You then eat the fish. You then put out the fire and walk around the jungle. You hear some birds cawing here and there. After A nice walk, you go back to where you were in the beginning and lay down. You then wake up in your comfy bed.

Day 3

Cox Arboretum
Today we explored this park. We had to do an activity where we had to pick five trees and take a picture of the leaf, the bark,  the entire tree and the marker for the tree. We the allowed to walk around and explore the place on our own. Our group waked around and went inside the small ventilated building. We also went to the tower and looked around. We ate lunch before 12;00 on the tower and played a charades. Everyone then did yoga outside in the grass. It felt rel relaxing and calm. However it was very hot and it felt kind of stuffy. We then left and came back to school.

Day 2

Delco Park
Today walked all the way to Delco Park. We did an activity with an author. We had to pick a sentence from a magazine paper,  and make a haiku poem using that sentence. Next we had to make a dialogue between two people using a different sentence. We then did an activity where we had to observe an area from the park. It had to be approximately one square foot. We had to observe it from a standing position, then  observe it from a sitting position, and finally observe it while laying down on our belly. When we were standing we all saw grass, two flowers, and many leaves, such as clovers. Then when we were sitting we saw more detailed things. There were holes in some of the leaves, different shades of green and small patches of dirt. We finally laid down and saw more dirt, some dead leaves, and tiny seeds. As we got closer the the area, with different positions, the ground looked bigger and bigger. There was a huge difference from when we stood up, to when we laid down. It felt as if I was in a different world.

Day 1

Introduction
To the Woods is a STEM-Mersion about living deliberately and being free without any restrictions. Today we had to describe the meaning of it and share it to the class. We also got to know each other. Then we did a collaboration activity, where were divided into two teams, and we had to get to the other side of the hallway with out stepping on the floor. However, each team was only allowed to use four wooden blocks. Next, we discussed the syllabus and the class rules. So today we were introduced to this STEM-Mersion and we all got to know each other.

This is the collaboration activity that we had done.
